Tracy Bekx

My current position is at the University of Wisconsin, Madison as an Associate Professor in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, where I have been on faculty since 2003. I took on the role as Director of the Pediatric Diabetes Program in 2013, and since then have led our team in 1). program development 2) improving patient care and 3) guiding research and quality improvement while supervising trainees. Areas of program development have focused on transition of young adults with type 1 diabetes from pediatric to adult care, as well development of diabetes ketoacidosis protocols. Improvements in patient care include identifying high risk patients for close monitoring, expanding staff, and leading educational opportunities. Academic activities, such as research and quality improvement, have focused on clinical practice (patient education, patient mental health, technology).
