I study the mechanisms of obesity-related disease improvement after bariatric surgery, focusing on mechanisms generated by the gastro-intestinal tract such as bile acid signaling, enteral hormones, and the gut microbiome. Obesity-related disease states of interest include heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and hypertension.
