I work on community-based and clinical interventions to improve shared decision- making and self-management of diabetes by older adults with multiple chronic conditions. I have expertise in clinical trials and dissemination and implementation research. Much of my work is related to reducing health disparities in care delivery and self-management, including in older adults with diabetes. I have conducted implementation research on strategies to improve community organizations’ adoption of evidence based health promotion programs. As Director of UW’s Community Academic Aging Research Network (CAARN), I facilitate formation of research partnerships with community-based organizations in Wisconsin’s Aging Network and African American communities.
